The Story
A Triumphant Phoenix
Rising from the Ashes.
On the night of October 23, 2018, a fire raged through this property in Woodstock, New York, leaving behind devastation and loss.
Three homes were consumed by the flames, an event that became one of the most dramatic local fires in the community’s history.
The aftermath was a grim testament to the fire’s fury. Piles of rubble, burnt remnants of once-cherished homes, lay untouched, a haunting reminder of what was lost.
For nearly two years, the land lay in a state of neglect, with very few people showing the interest or courage to breathe life back into it.
Enter the Arnstein family
Having been visitors to Woodstock for over 25 years, the Arnsteins saw beyond the ruin. They saw potential, challenge, and a chance to heal a wound in a place they loved. They decided to embark on an extraordinary journey to clean up the fire’s aftermath, a task that took more than a full year and over $200,000.
The foundations of the buildings were excavated, and all rubble and environmental hazards were carefully removed. The process was painstaking, but the goal was clear: to return the land to a condition where gardens could grow, and life could flourish once again.
We call it “nature-first, inspire second, love third” - a philosophy reflected in our beautifully tended gardens that foster biodiversity and wonder.
